The piercing Process

prep, procedure, and aftercare

The Prep

Here’s a few things to check off before coming in for your Piercing:

  • Bring a valid and up to date form of identification.

  • Make sure you have eaten at least 2 hours before your appointment and drink plenty of water.

  • Do not come in under the influence of drugs or alcohol. We will refuse any services at that time.

  • If you are wearing makeup in the area of the desired piercing, be prepared to have that area cleaned off and disinfected before the procedure.

  • Minors must have their guardian present at all times during the process.

Procedure

Here’s what will happen before you get in the chair:

  • When you arrive, head to the front counter to do paperwork.

  • If you have a preference on which piercer you’d like, be sure to mention this at the front desk.

  • Your piercer will come speak with you shortly after your arrival and bring you back to check your anatomy to insure your piercing can be done safely.

  • If your anatomy isn’t compatible with the desired piercing, we will recommend an alternative option.

  • Once you’re checked over, you’ll make your way back to the lobby to allow your piercer time to set up their station.

  • When they’re ready for you, they’ll come get you and guide you through the process from there.

Aftercare

Aftercare is widely different from piercing to piercing. Listen to your piercers instructions very carefully and reference the after care instructions that were given to you.

Here are some items you may need while your piercing is healing:

  • NeilMed NeilCleanse Piercing Aftercare Solution

  • Non-Alcoholic and Antiseptic Mouth Wash

Some piercings can take 6 months to over a year to heal. This does NOT mean you can’t change your jewelry once its past a certain time. We recommend returning or going to a professional piercer for jewelry change outs throughout the full healing process.

Down sizing jewelry is required to maintain the integrity of your piercing and avoid complications such as migration. Your piercer will advise you on when resizing is needed. Please be sure to make your downsizing appointment to ensure proper healing of your piercing.
